Special oil weir container delivered for the Mittelplate drilling rig
The largest German oil deposit, Mittelplate, is located on the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park’s southern edge. The oil is stored in the sandstone layers at a depth of 2,000 to 3,000 meters. The deposit has been developed since October 1987 to extract this important raw material deposit. DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG as operator and Wintershall Holding GmbH as a partner have produced more than 30 million tons of oil since the start of production.
Many thanks to the HYDROTECHNIK LÜBECK team for the expert introduction to the use of the solid-state barrier. You have thought of a lot of “little things”. This shows that you have supplied us with a product that is “ready for professional use”. I am curious how the practical exercises go.

Individually designed and put together
The Mittelplate drilling rig is located in the middle of the Wadden Sea nature reserve. If oil were to leak despite the extensive safety precautions, action would have to be taken immediately. A container with oil weir equipment was designed for the offshore oil weir, which is precisely tailored to this special position in the Wadden Sea. This closes the circle for HYDROTECHNIK LÜBECK. In 1987 the company delivered the first oil weir equipment for the Mittelplate drilling rig.
